The article “Early dispersal of domestic horses into the Great Plains and northern Rockies” was awarded the 2024 Newcomb Cleveland Prize by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). This study on the spread of horses across North America during the 16th and 17th century involved an interdisciplinary team, including archaeozoologists, archaeologists, geneticists, Native American traditional knowledge holders among whom was our colleague Dr Petra Rajić Šikanjić.
