The Quality Assurance and Improvement Unit (QAIU) was established to ensure the Institute’s activities are consistently aligned with the latest scientific advancements in anthropology, applicable legal regulations, and high ethical standards. The aim of QAIU is to identify, assess, and address risks and opportunities in the Institute’s work processes while creating opportunities for further improvements; enhance an open working environment where employees feel safe and respected, by implementing the highest ethical standards; ensure that the Institute’s goals are measurable and achievable; and apply and improve the efficiency of quality management processes and systems in accordance with relevant standards. QAIU’s scope at the Institute also includes occupational safety tasks and controlling in general, and its operations are closely tied to the process of business digitalization. The role of QAIU is also crucial in the Institute’s re-accreditation process with the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE).
In line with the aforementioned, the main goals of QAIU are to establish a quality management system at the Institute level, in accordance with the requirements of the HRN EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, as well as to establish a laboratory quality management system within the Center for Applied Bioanthropology, in accordance with the HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. Ultimately, this will result in consistently high quality and reproducibility of the research conducted by the Institute, as well as the professional services provided to the market – both of which are essential prerequisites for serious and high-quality positioning in the scientific and professional services market.
Our commitment to quality and safety enables the Institute to excel not only in scientific and professional work but also in responsible and sustainable operations.
At the Institute of Anthropology, we believe that quality is the foundation of every success, and our QAIU is a key step toward further development and progress.
