The Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) approved the financing of a scientific research project entitled “Bones, isotopes and genes: Health, diet and ancestry of the Roman period inhabitants of Croatia”. It is a project led by dr. Mario Novak, who deals with the systematic research of populations that inhabited the area of ​​Croatia during antiquity (3rd-5th centuries) through an approach that combines archaeological, bioarchaeological, biochemical and biomolecular analytical methods. Employees of the Institute for Anthropological research, also participate in the work of the project as collaborators. prof. Ivor Janković and Ph.D. Mario Carić, with the participation of experts from the Zadar Archaeological Museum, Vinkovci City Museum, Mississippi State University (USA) and the University of Tubingen (Germany).
